In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In honor of warrior women and survivors. In honor of all women in beer (and everywhere) fighting for an equal seat at the table. We want to share these powerful, brave and beautiful words by @thebeernerdess 💪🏽🍻💓

“I am 1 in 8. I have fought a battle everyday for the past almost 3 years with breast cancer. It has been in the silence of my own hell because I feared it would make me weaker in some associates' eyes. Graduate of Siebel Institute, Cicerone Beer Server, Road to 100 Cicerone, The MJF -Scholarship Awardee 2022 for Distillation, Pink Boots DEIJ Co-Lead, Co-Founder Lifting Lucy, I am a Warrior of all who fight breast cancer on the daily much like me. I want a more diverse craft industry, one that is so melted and so blended that we never know where one begins and ends.
I have come a long way in the past 15 years from front of house, kitchen, keg washers, grain slinger, yeast cell counter, wort way bender, brewer and now to cancer survivor with a warrior nation beside me. My biggest worry and fight at this time is the lack of advocacy for brewers and workers in the fermentation world. Women in general already have a hard enough time just being us, but then to add cancer on top.
This isn’t something that we asked to happen, we are stronger in the end for it all. I would love to figure out an alliance that is as strong as we are, that will fight hard, and nonstop to do better and help more in their battles with breast cancer”.
